Who I Am

Hi. I'm Tommy Leatham, and I am here to make your life easier.

I thrive on helping folks that are overwhelmed with certain aspects of their business (technology-wise and beyond) to navigate development projects, execute solutions, and develop a toolset to handle new challenges in the future. So, I started Tommy Leatham: Developer and Consigliere (TLDC). Despite the fancy sounding, self-appointed title, I'm pretty down to earth.

I have over 15 years experience in general website management and ecommerce. Since 2015 I have specialized in the EDC sector, but work with clients from all sorts of backgrounds.

I like to think of myself as a 'Swiss-army knife' of webdev/ecommerce/general tech problem solving. I have personally been involved in all facets of running a small business: shipping customer orders, manufacturing products for direct and third party sales, answering phone calls and emails, troubleshooting tech issues, posting social media, fixing office computers, taking product photos, building and launching websites (and so much more). I have direct experience with these challenges, and insight into their solutions.

Just as importantly, I have been on the 'customer' side of working with tech developers, and know how frustrating that interaction can be and unsatisfactory the results often are.

Outside of TLDC, I am the owner and operator of Tuff Writer Pens. I enjoy 00's emo punk music, race RC cars with my kid, play both digital and analog games, shoot guns, eat a lot of pizza, think of myself as raucously funny (my family definitely agrees), and read books with my ears.

I also regularly misspell "thier", and often type "form" when I mean "from".

What I Do

I help businesses - specifically small businesses - in many areas. My main skill set revolves around ecommerce platforms, business technology, product support, brand identity, infrastructure and more, to name a few. Whats that really mean, though?

While not close to all-encompassing, here's a short list of some of my skills and capabilities:

ECommerce

Website Development

A sharp website can offer a great first impression and give customer's confidence in your brand. A well designed site gives you the tools to serve your customers and make it easier for them to support your business. TLDR: Good site=makes you money and gives them a better experience. Win-Win.

  • Full Website design/redesign/platform migration and back-end streamlining
  • Front and Back-End infrastructure planning and deployment
  • SEO, Business Tool, and Social Integration
  • Ongoing Web Technical Support

DESIGN

Creative Development

Your web presence lives and dies on how well your brand looks at first glace. Your sustainability will be judged on the quality behind the eye candy. Step One: Catch their eye quickly to draw them in. Step Two: Keep them engaged with real content. Step Three: Keep them coming back for more.

All the smart tech in the world doesn't matter if your behind the scenes workflow is a mess. Keep communication fast and professional. Run simple, organized systems. Have a way to get it all back if disaster strikes.

Results You Can See

In no particular order, here's a list of some of my past and present clients. Please contact me for more examples and specifics.

Note: Non-Current clients may have made changes post launch without my involvement.

Talk is Cheap. Results Are Priceless.

Let's cut to the chase: I am not free.

The number one question asked of me is: what do my services cost?

My number one answer is: It depends.

Everyone's needs are different. How much I do, affects how much I charge.

Example: You want me to build a brand new ecommerce website, which I will charge you (X). Am I taking product photos (Y)? Are there support/theme images (Z)? Is the domain set up (A)? Have you configured analytics (B)? Do you need business suite services (C)? It's hard to know X before I know Y, Z, A, B, and C.

TLDR: I want to help. I want what you pay me to feel like you are getting a good deal. Small jobs will likely be billed for the job itself. Big jobs might be more of an hourly estimate. Ongoing jobs might need a retainer.

The only way to figure out the specifics is by having a chat. So:
